Rota Temporis was founded in 2007 from the union of artists coming from different expressive fields and from the world of entertainment (music, cinema and theater mainly), who decided to promote and disseminate historical and medieval music with a completely new approach, especially if compared to the canonical one. They look at the mittelalter genre which began to spread in Germany during the 1990s, mainly thanks to Corvus Corax, a seminal band representing the main source of inspiration for the whole movement. After an initial phase marked by the itinerant use of bagpipes and percussions, the band began to propose stage shows. More musical instruments were added at this point, such as the tin whistle, the bouzouki, guitars, horns, the didgeridoo and many others. Over the years the band has played the main historical Italian and German re-enactment events, reaching the stage of the "Kaltenberg Knights' Tournament" in Germany, considered to be the most important Medieval Festival in Europe. Through the enchanting sound of the bagpipes and the mighty rhythmic basis of the davuls the kettledrums and the snare drums, Rota Temporis accompanies the spectator on a musical journey in search of long lost emotions and sensations.
..... the journey continues all the way to the merry saltarellos and tourdions of the 14th and 15th century, thus assuming altogether mystic, goliardic and sometimes nostalgic tones, able to attract the most demanding listeners as well as the casual onlooker who is approaching this world for the first time...
