The duo "Le Melusine" takes its name from the ancient and mysterious Melusines fairies, fantastic creatures that populate many legends of the French Middle Ages. They originate from an idea of Elisa Malatesti and Antonella Natangelo, who wanted to combine their passion for singing with the sweet sounds of ancient traditional instruments. Both graduated in singing: Antonella (soprano) is an expert in singing accompanied by both classical and Celtic harp, while Elisa (mezzo-soprano) is a multi-instrumentalist who combines singing with many different and evocative sounds, including the knee harp of Troubadoric tradition, the psaltery with chords (a liturgical tradition instrument that can rarely be heard outside the secret of the cloisters), Indian and ethnic instruments. Together they give life to a combination of sounds and suggestions spanning from the Middle Ages to the contemporary age.
