From the deepest visceral Celtic chants, passing through medieval music sometimes banned by the clergy and forced to respect strict "canonical" rules that could even limit the use of certain notes.
Rota Temporis was founded in 2007 from the union of artists coming from different expressive fields and from the world of entertainment (music, cinema and theater mainly), who decided to promote and disseminate historical and medieval music with a completely new approach, especially if compared to the canonical one. They look at the mittelalter genre which began to spread in Germany during the 1990s, mainly thanks to Corvus Corax, a seminal band representing the main source of inspiration for the whole movement. After an initial phase marked by the itinerant use of bagpipes and percussions, the band began to propose stage shows. More musical instruments were added at this point, such as the tin whistle, the bouzouki, guitars, horns, the didgeridoo and many others. Over the years the band has played the main historical Italian and German re-enactment events, reaching the stage of the "Kaltenberg Knights' Tournament" in Germany, considered to be the most important Medieval Festival in Europe. Through the enchanting sound of the bagpipes and the mighty rhythmic basis of the davuls the kettledrums and the snare drums, Rota Temporis accompanies the spectator on a musical journey in search of long lost emotions and sensations.
